Ego Intertwined In Spirit

As a man experiences the feeling of pure compassion for others, even for a moment, he realises that there exist good which is pure and free from any egoistic desire for reward or recognition, nor even for the feeling of self-satisfaction or significance.

Though at most times our egos are intertwined in spirit while we are alive, the two I believe are separate and either can be made more dominant in a person's life at any moment. It it largely our own choice which of these governs our lives and affects the world around us.
