Deprivation of Self Reflection

The deprivation and lack of self-reflective skills can lead to a myriad of problems that can lead to destructive outcomes. When one never questions their own behaviour, dangers run high. The most disastrous individuals lacked self-reflective skills - as Bertrand Russell says they are "always so certain of themselves" and make big claims without being open to criticism and other perspectives.

Self-Reflection

When individuals lack self-reflective skills, they fall to pray to the victim of pride, lack empathy and are inability to understand themselves and others more effectively. As a result they are prone to form premature judgements and create unreliable beliefs. Further they are unable to grow effectively and refine themselves. They may accumulate knowledge, however the application of this knowledge becomes also limited as they are unable to take in feedback from themselves and the environment to develop further.
